Debt purchaser Lowell Group has named Colin Storrar as chief financial officer as part of two appointments to its executive board.
Storrar has joined the firm from HSBC Bank, where he had worked as chief financial officer for both First Direct and HSBC’s wider contact centre and digital channels.
More recently, he was general manager with responsibility for contact centre provision. He has also held senior finance roles at GE Capital Bank and GE Money.
The other appointment announced is that of Gary Edwards as chief information officer, a newly-created executive board role.
Edwards was previously group chief information officer at Thomas Cook and has worked at Barclaycard.
James Cornell, chief executive of Lowell Group, said: “We have tremendous growth ambitions for Lowell and the appointment of two such experienced and talented people will certainly add further impetus to the delivery of our plans.”
The group also revealed that it has hired Oliver Betts to its senior management team to fill a new role, director of new ventures.
He joins Lowell today (12 November) from TDX Group, where he was responsible for its debt sale business.
Cornell added: “We look forward to his contribution as we continue to diversify into larger opportunities in both current and new sectors of the market.”
