Online news: Registry Trust extends Equifax agreement 18 January 2012

Credit reference agency Equifax has signed a 5-year contract extension with the Registry Trust.

The contract extends a a collaboration between the two firms dating back to 1985.

The Registry Trust operates judgment registers in six jurisdictions, including England and Wales under contract to the Ministry of Justice, while Equifax provides credit checking and information on consumers, commercial and workforce information to businesses and consumers.

Jon Hale, chief executive of the Registry Trust, said: “Judgment information is the key ingredient in responsible lending and – with new technologies – can serve many other publicly useful purposes.”
